Enterramiento de la 'Cornerstone'

La primera iglesia Luterana en muchos anos en Palanga

This weekend (Jul 30, 2005) an important ceremony took place in Palanga;
After half of a century, a town predominantly Lutheran in the olden days, is about to get again a church of their own.
Today we attended the First Stone benediction by the Lutheran Bishop of Lithuania.

From the left, the Palanga Lutheran Congregation President and other important pillars of the community.

A view of the church dignataries, the choir, the orchestra, and some important people in attendance.
You may recognize the two ladies under the second window from the right.

Our Kretinga and Palanga Lutheran Pastor addressing the congregation.
From the left: the Tanzania Lutheran Bishop; two bishops from the Missouri Lutheran Synod; the Lithuanian emigree who, like us, returned to his native city, and unlike us, donated the first US$ 100,000.- to get the ball rolling; our pastor; the Bishop of the Lutheran Church of Lithuania (not a year over 30); the Catholic Priest of Palanga; and other dignataries.

The twins of our Pastor. According the Missoury Synod Bishops, they were the best fund-raisers while on a trip with their father to woo sponsors in the U.S.
